Protect Yourself from COVID This Spring Break

It’s time for Spring Break! Whether you are traveling or staying at home, it is good to keep in mind the COVID-19 risks for your area.

Here are some quick tips to enjoy your time off, while staying safe and healthy!

  1. Test before you go – Even if you feel fine, we want to be able to stop the spread. Many times, COVID symptoms can reflect allergy symptoms or a sore throat. Don’t let it fool you. If you test positive, be sure to stay home and quarantine.
  2. Do research on the area you are headed to – Head over to CDC.gov and look up the county you are going to, to see your risk level! That way, you can plan accordingly for your trip and keep yourself safe and healthy. If you are headed to a high-risk area, be sure to take better PPE and stick to lower-populated areas.
  3. Get vaccinated and boosted! – Now is the time to get your boost. It will take a week or two to get the protection. Schedule an appointment at a Hamilton clinic today or stop by a vaccine pop-up to get vaccinated.
  4. Wear a mask! – Wearing a mask helps keep your germs to yourself and other germs from not getting to you. This is helpful in highly populated areas where it is unavoidable to interact with people. Keep a mask or 2 in convenient areas so you don’t forget them!
  5. Practice good health habits – Make sure to wash your hands well and often, avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose, and keep your public appearances to a minimum. Travel with hand sanitizer too.
  6. Watch for symptoms, even when you get back home – Be aware of how you are feeling. If you are feverish, have a cough or sniffles, stay home and test.
